The Lloydminster Bobcats are rolling out a series of game-day upgrades at the Cenovus Energy Hub for the 2026-27 Alberta Junior Hockey League season, targeting faster concession lines, expanded bar services and enhanced in-game entertainment.

The game-day enhancements come as the ‘Cats host AJHL pre-season action at the Hub this weekend.
Following their inaugural season at the new venue, club officials reviewed fan feedback and collaborated with the City of Lloydminster to address operational bottlenecks ahead of their home opener against the Fort McMurray Oil Barons on Sept. 18.
Key operational changes focus heavily on reducing concourse wait times. The arena’s main concession has been split into two dedicated windows, one for hot food orders and another for snacks and drinks, alongside a streamlined core menu and rotating specials.
Additional food options include a new north concourse kiosk offering popcorn and mini melts, alongside an expanded lobby canteen serving specialty coffees, light snacks and weekend health options.

Alcohol service is also expanding to relieve congestion. The club is introducing a new full-service bar on the north concourse and a dedicated suite-level bar, while the main bar has been upgraded with fountain soft drinks for faster cocktail preparation.
To streamline entry into the arena, ticket scanning stations have been relocated closer to the main staircases and elevator. Fans attending games in the suite level will now be issued wristbands upon entry.
In-game entertainment will see a boost with the introduction of a full-time in-game host for intermission contests and media timeout promotions, updated jumbotron features and scheduled post-game player autograph sessions on the concourse.
The Bobcats start pre-season action tonight at the Hub against the Kindersley Klippers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. The puck drops at 7 p.m.
The ‘Cats are back at the Hub for their final pre-season game on Sept. 12 against the Bonnyville Pontiacs.
Regular-season action kicks off Sept. 18 when the Bobcats host the Fort McMurray Oil Barons for back-to-back home games on opening weekend.
