Two Battlefords-area infrastructure projects have reached substantial construction completion this fall, according to the Saskatchewan Monthly Construction Update released Sept. 30 by SaskBuilds and Procurement.

The update lists a new Operations and Service Delivery Maintenance Shop in North Battleford and an elevator upgrade at the King’s Bench Courthouse in Battleford as recently finished, alongside plumbing work at the Walter Scott Building in Regina.
What’s wrapping up in the Battlefords
SaskBuilds and procurement minister Sean Wilson said the province is tracking construction and renovation projects across Saskatchewan as they move through the fall season.
“The Government of Saskatchewan remains committed to informing residents of important construction and renovation projects across Saskatchewan as they continue to move forward,” Wilson said. “On behalf of government, I would like to extend a thank you to the countless workers and partners across our province for their dedication and efforts to creating and improving vital infrastructure.”
Neither project is expected to carry further public-facing disruptions into the winter, according to the province.
No new Highway 16 closures listed this round
The September update does not list any new highway closures along the Highway 16 corridor between the Battlefords and Lloydminster, a route that has seen seasonal construction work in past years, including an eastbound closure near Battlefords reported in late 2024.
Commuters and trade traffic moving between the Border City and the Battlefords are not flagged for delays tied to this month’s provincial release, though the province has previously used its monthly update to flag highway construction schedules as work shifts through fall and winter.
Other projects moving forward provincewide
The September report also highlights two projects now entering new phases: electrical upgrades at the Saskatchewan Polytechnic campus in Moose Jaw and multi-year repairs to the L.F. McIntosh parkade in Prince Albert.
The Moose Jaw campus work replaces electrical infrastructure installed in the 1950s, with phase one expected to finish this fall and phase two to follow in 2027, the province said. The Prince Albert parkade project, which began with an engineering inspection in June 2020, is entering its final phase this fall, with completion of the current phase expected in winter 2026-27.
The province says its 2026-27 budget includes a capital spending plan of $4.3 billion, one of the largest in Saskatchewan’s history. The Border City has its own list of ongoing municipal work, with the City of Lloydminster previously reporting it had carried forward 59 projects into 2026.
Residents can follow future updates through SaskBuilds and Procurement’s monthly construction reports, which the province says will continue to track projects as they progress toward completion.
