There are some community calls that feel optional and there are the ones that genuinely matter. Right now, the Lloydminster Lions Club needs billet families for 37 international students arriving this summer as part of a Lions youth exchange program.

The need is urgent.
Before these students can finalize visas and travel plans, they need confirmed places to stay.
The students, ranging from ages 11 to 18, will arrive in early July and spend part of their visit at camp near North Battleford before returning to Lloydminster later in the month.
Organizers say many families choose to host two students together, helping the students feel more comfortable while keeping each other company.
What stood out most to me while speaking with Lions Club member Shelley Tatro was how simple the ask really is.
Nobody expects billet families to provide extravagant trips or expensive entertainment.
The students come with their own spending money, and much of the programming is already organized.
What they need is a safe, welcoming home and a chance to experience everyday life in our community.
Lloydminster has always prided itself on stepping up when people need help. This is one of those moments.
