A 78-year-old woman is dead following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 16 near Marshall, Sask., on Monday afternoon.

Maidstone RCMP responded to a report of a crash involving an SUV and a car at the intersection of Highway 16 and Range Road 3273, west of Marshall, at about noon.
The driver and sole occupant of the SUV, a 78-year-old woman from Maidstone, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical services. Police said her family has been notified.
The driver of the car, who was also the sole occupant, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
While officers were managing traffic and responding to the initial crash, a second collision occurred nearby on Highway 16 involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle. EMS evaluated the individuals involved at the scene and no serious injuries were reported. The driver of the truck received a ticket for following too closely.
Highway 16 was temporarily closed to traffic but has since reopened.
Maidstone RCMP and a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist are continuing to investigate the cause of the initial crash.
According to Saskatchewan RCMP figures, there have been 55 fatal collisions resulting in 68 deaths on force-policed roadways across the province so far this year.
