A long-standing landmark for commercial drivers in Lloydminster is entering a new era following a nationwide transition of commercial fuel locations.

Lloydminster’s Highway 16 Husky Travel Centre has rebranded to BVD Petroleum after four decades under Husky and Cenovus.
The change, which took effect Aug. 1, impacts travel centres and cardlock networks across Canada. The change affects travel centres and cardlock networks nationwide. Consequently, the location no longer operates as Esso, and Cenovus has officially phased out the Key to the Highway program.
Commercial drivers and fleet managers will no longer be able to use Key to the Highway cards at the site.
BVD Petroleum, an Ontario-based commercial petroleum supplier, is overseeing the site takeover. Drivers are being advised that minor service interruptions may occur as locations complete IT computer upgrades, point-of-sale system changes and exterior physical rebranding.
