Two Lloydminster RCMP officers have received Certificates of Appreciation from the Eastern Alberta District Commander for proactive enforcement efforts that pulled millions of dollars in illegal contraband off the streets and targeted impaired drivers.

Const. Derek Rohatynski was commended for his work between November 2025 and February 2026, when he proactively identified vehicles transporting illegal products through the Border City. His efforts resulted in total seizures valued at more than $16 million.
Const. Cedric Colimon was recognized for his traffic enforcement performance, placing him in the top 10 RCMP members across the Northwest Region. Colimon covered Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut, removing impaired drivers from the road.
Local detachment leadership praised the officers’ contributions, noting that contraband seizures of that scale significantly disrupt organized crime operations, while removing impaired drivers directly protects the community from preventable tragedies.
