The County and Vermilion River (CVR) and Britannia Fire Departments (BFD) responded to calls in the past 24 hours.

The Britannia Fire Department responded to a bale fire north of Highway 303 at near Range Road 3262 around 8 p.m. on July 31.

“Bales are easier to manage if you just let them burn. So that’s what we did,” said the department on social media. “With the help of farmer Walker, we were able to utilize a tractor to pull apart the pile to give it a good soaking.”

Collision on 619

CVR first responders attended to a motor vehicle incident in the early morning hours of Aug. 1.
The call had Kitscoty and Paradise Valley firefighters working a two-vehicle collision on Highway 619.
Crews located victims who were described as having minor injuries and mitigated a small fuel leak while providing traffic control.
