The Co-op announced the $100,000 four-year partnership at the Cenovus Energy Hub as the Rustlers hosted the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens in their Oct. 3 home-opener, kicking off the 2025–26 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) season.

The team will be known as the Lakeland College Lloydminster and District Co-op Rustlers for the next four seasons.

“This sponsorship means a lot. It’s crucial for our team to have a naming sponsor and it goes a long way to support our program,” said Rustlers head coach Morgan Mann. “It’s a big investment and we’re really excited about Lloydminster and District Co-op.

“I feel like it’s a good alignment because we share the same values they do with community. We like being out and involved, and try to make Lloydminster the best community we can.”

For Mann, working with the community is about inspiring players to one day pay it forward in their home communities.

“Partnering with the Rustlers Women’s Hockey Team felt like a natural fit,” said the Co-op’s director of marketing and community relations Tess Wack, noting the two organizations share the same community-based values.

“We are inspired by their drive, leadership, and community spirit. We are excited to support their continued growth and celebrate the power of women in sport.”

Now in their fourth ACAC season, the Rustlers’ first two years were sponsored by the Kings Energy Group before a two-year partnership with Apex Automation.
