Lloydminster RCMP has cleared the scene on Barr Crescent but has moved its response to a secondary location near the corner of 32 St. and 47 Ave.
Police say there will be a heavy presence in the area but believe there is no ongoing risk to the public.
Residents are being asked to avoid the area and refrain from posting photos of responding officers on social media until the operation concludes.
RCMP say an update with additional details is expected once more information becomes available.
