The Alberta Order of Excellence urges Albertans to nominate community members, leaders and innovators for the province’s highest honour.
The award recognizes individuals who have made a significant and lasting impact on their communities and on Alberta. Past recipients include Olympians, scientists, farmers, volunteers, business leaders, educators and artists whose work has helped shape the province.
Since establishing the Order in 1979, Alberta has invested 229 residents into it.
The Order accepts nominations year-round, but only those submitted by Feb. 15 will be considered for this year’s investiture.
Nominees must be Canadian citizens living in Alberta and must be able to attend the investiture ceremony if selected. People may not nominate themselves, their spouse or immediate family members.
More information on the Order, including nomination forms and biographies of past recipients, is available on the Alberta Order of Excellence website.
