Saskatchewan RCMP’s homicide investigation unit is investigating a suspicious death in North Battleford.
Battlefords RCMP said officers were called at about 7:45 a.m. Friday, March 13, after receiving a report of an injured man in a business parking lot off the Highway 16 bypass.
Police said officers arrived and located the man, who was declared dead at the scene by emergency medical services.
The victim has been identified as a 30-year-old man from North Battleford. RCMP said his family has been notified.
Mounties say the death is considered suspicious and the RCMP’s homicide unit has taken over the investigation.

Police say there will be an increased police presence near the Highway 16 bypass in North Battleford for an undetermined amount of time.
RCMP said no additional information is available at this time and updates will be provided when they become available. They added the public will be notified if an imminent risk to public safety is identified.
