Lloyd man arrested for weapon, drug offences

On July 6 Lloydminster RCMP’s General Investigation Section (GIS) were conducting a drug-related investigation and executed a search warrant on a local residence. During the execution of the warrant police located multiple loaded firearms, as well as a variety of controlled substances suspected to be cocaine and methamphetamine.

As a result of the investigation, Tristan Edelman, 37, of Lloydminster, is facing the following Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act charges:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking x2
  • Careless use of a firearm x3
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose x3
  • Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition x2
  • Unauthorized possession for a firearm x3
  • Possession of property obtained by crime

Edelman was held in custody for a judicial hearing, where he was released by a Justice of the Peace. Edelman is scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Alberta Provincial Court on Aug. 2.
