Raymond Howard McIlwrick

Raymond Howard McIlwrick was born on April 5, 1939 in Lashburn, SK to William and Doris McIlwrick.
Ray leaves to mourn his passing: his loving wife of 65 years, Valerie; daughters, Debra (Frank Leschinski), Donna (Calvin Clarke); son, Brian (Emilia) McIlwrick; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Ray was predeceased by his son, Neil.
Ray grew up in the Buzzard District on the banks of the Battle River south of Lone Rock, SK. He was one of 8 children. They attended Rearshill school until they moved to Lloydminster in the 50s.
Ray’s first job was with Nelson Lumber followed by Mills Transport and Roberge Brothers. From that time on, he was a trucker. This would be his lifelong career. In 1974, he and his brother, Ron, bought Temor Oil, with 4 trailers and 2 body trucks. The company quickly expanded to branches in Maidstone and Bonnyville. In 1990, he decided to retire.
He became a snowbird and purchased a home in Arizona. For the next few years, Arizona and the cabin at Turtle Lake became his favorite places to be. Family was never far behind.
Ray passed away on December 5, 2022, with family by his side, at the age of 83. The service was held at Grace United Church on December 9, 2022.
McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements.
