HUXLEY: It is with heavy hearts, the family announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Robert (Bob) Glen Huxley in Lloydminster, AB on December 18, 2022 at the age of 65 years.
Bob was born November 5, 1957 to Glen and Doreen Huxley in the Maidstone Hospital, the first son to join sisters, Dorinda, Joanne and Marilyn. A few years later, brother, Larry, was born. He took his schooling in Maidstone until Grade 8, then in later years, earned his GED – Grade 12 equivalent. As a farm boy, he helped with chores – picking rocks and roots on the farm, planting potatoes in the garden with Mom and later digging up the potatoes to store for the winter. He helped herd the cattle to pasture in the Spring and home again in the fall, always on foot, trailing behind the herd with his siblings. Bob played ball with a Waseca team, rode his bike, took swimming lessons at Silver Lake and was in 4-H Beef for a few years.
Bob started working in the oil patch at an early age, on a service rig for Border Drilling. From service rigs, he moved on to drilling rigs and spent most of his working years “chasing the rigs”.
Bob leaves to mourn his passing and is lovingly remembered by: his son, Austin, of Calgary; sisters, Dorinda (Bill) Fitzsimonds, Joanne Kissick, Marilyn (Don) Ferguson; and brother, Larry Huxley, all of Maidstone.
Bob was predeceased by: his parents, Glen and Doreen Huxley; maternal and paternal grandparents; and his brother-in-law, Larry Kissick.
A Graveside Service for Bob will be held at a later date.
