HARDES: Adella Hardes passed away at Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre, Lloydminster, Alberta, January 16, 2023, at the age of 82 years.
Adella Leer was born June 25, 1940, on her grandparent’s farm, west of St. Walburg. She was the eldest of five children born to Conrad and Olive Leer. On January 13, 1962, she married the love of her life, Leonard Hardes.
Adella enjoyed the farm, curling, quilting, working at the Credit Union, travelling, gardening, socializing with friends, old and new, and the many dances she attended listening to Leonard and his band play. Adella’s main devotions were always to her husband, her children, and her grandchildren. Unfortunately, her disease progressed and she never got to be part of her great grandchildren’s lives.
Adella is survived by: her children, Shelly (Blaine) Harland, Judy (Ken) Hougham and Darrel (Tracy) Hardes; six grandchildren, Jill (Josh) LaClare, Bethany (Tanner) Levorson, Matthew (Christa) Hougham, Samuel Hougham, Chantelle Hardes and Taylor Hardes; two great grandchildren, Hazel LaClare and Leo Levorson; one sister, Beatrice Leer; and three brothers, Harvey (Diane) Leer, Norman (Betty) Leer and Les (Darlene) Leer; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Adella is predeceased by: her husband, Leonard Hardes; grandson, Chad Harland; and her parents, Conrad and Olive Leer.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Adella was conducted from Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, Paradise Hill, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, with Father Frederick Akah officiating. The service was recorded and is posted on McCaw’s Website under Adella’s obituary.
