The City of Lloydminster has closed the outdoor skating surface at Bud Miller All Seasons Park for the 2022-2023 winter season.
Over the past few months, the nine outdoor skating surfaces across the community have allowed residents and visitors to enjoy outdoor recreation during the winter months. However, as the temperatures begin to rise, it is no longer possible to maintain safe ice conditions for skating.
The City of Lloydminster would like to thank everyone who took advantage of these facilities and encourages everyone to continue enjoying the many other recreational opportunities available throughout the community.
The speedskating oval and other community outdoor rinks were closed in mid-March.
Stormwater Retention Ponds
The City of Lloydminster cautions residents to remain clear of retention lakes and ponds this winter. As winter temperatures fluctuate, the thickness and solidity of the ice covering retention lakes and ponds do too.
Residents are asked to adhere to the warning signs and are urged to take extra precautions, ensuring children and pets remain a safe distance from retention lakes and ponds and other bodies of water.
If someone falls through the ice, do not go on the ice to attempt a rescue. Call 911 immediately for help.
