Vernon Edwin Matthews

MATTHEWS: Vernon Edwin Matthews passed away at Lloydminster Continuing Care Centre, Lloydminster, Alberta on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the age of 98 years. Vernon is survived by: his daughters, Esther (Russell) Corrigan, Verna (Glen) Johnston and Charlotte (Albert) O’Hare; sons, Elmer (Danette) Matthews and Edwin (Bonnie) Matthews; grandchildren, Charleen Herle, Heather Brooks, Trisha McLaren, Todd Johnston, Glenda Williams, Greg O’Hare, Joni Bahm, Crystal Hawryluk, Travis Matthews, Melissa Schafer, Vanessa Kaschl and Joshua Matthews; twenty one great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Merv Goodman; and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives. Vernon was predeceased by: his loving wife, Dora Matthews; infant son, Vernon; great grandchildren, Keegan and Ashley; three sisters; two brothers; and two nephews. The Funeral Service for Vernon was conducted from Kitscoty Community Church, Kitscoty, Alberta on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 2:00 PM. Donations in memory of Vernon may be made to Lloydminster Regional Health Foundation – Lloydminster Continuing Care Centre or Vermilion Valley Lodge.
