A kitchen fire at Spiro's Family Restaurant had Lloydminster emergency crews in work-mode this morning after a food delivery driver called 9-1-1.
Family restaurant owner, Maria Kokonas, experienced a bit of a scare this morning after a small fire broke out in the kitchen around 7 a.m.
Three fire trucks from the Lloydminster Fire Department, multiple police and an EMS ambulance responded to a 9-1-1 call.
Kokonas arrived on the scene around 7:10 a.m. and spoke briefly to the Meridian Source.
She credits a Sysco food delivery driver for spotting the fire and calling 9-1-1, noting the driver told her the fire was starting to grow.
The cause of the fire is not known as officials continue to investigate.
