Vermilion RCMP have laid charges in an armed robbery with a firearm.
On Sept. 9, just before 11 p.m., RCMP received a complaint of an armed robbery which occurred at a business located in the area of Railway Ave.
Police say their investigation determined the suspect had worn a mask, brandished what appeared to be a firearm and left with an undisclosed amount of currency.
The suspect was identified and arrested. A search warrant was obtained for the residence believed to have items used in the robbery, the currency has not been recovered.
Lanny Wayne Fleck, a 46-year-old resident of Vermilion has been charged with, robbery with an imitation firearm and Wear disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence.
Fleck was remanded in custody after being taken before a Justice of the Peace. His next scheduled appearance in court is Sept. 16 in Vermilion.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Vermilion RCMP or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
