A early-morning collision on Highway 16 delayed motorists’ commutes on Feb. 5.
Emergency services, including the RCMP, Blackfoot Fire and Rescue, and Medavie West paramedics—responded to the scene at roughly 7:20 a.m.
The incident involved two vehicles in the eastbound lanes near Range Road 21. One vehicle appeared to have rear-ended the other near the intersection.
The RCMP directed traffic to the shoulder while they investigated. Paramedics transported one person for further medical care, though the extent of the injuries remains unknown.
Just over an hour later, a tow truck cleared the scene, removing the vehicle that had blocked both lanes.
Emergency services remind drivers to follow the directions of personnel at collision scenes and to slow down and move over for emergency vehicles.
