Health Canada is recalling a type of Igloo Cooler due to reports of finger injuries, including amputation.

Igloo is recalling its 90-Quart Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers due to a risk of fingertip injuries. The tow handle can pinch fingers, leading to possible amputations and crushing injuries.

As of Feb. 3, no injuries have been reported in Canada. In the United States, there have been 12 reports of injuries, including fingertip amputations, bone fractures, and lacerations.

Consumers should stop using the coolers immediately. Contact Igloo for a free replacement handle. Call 1-888-943-5182 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, or email ig*******@se******.com. More information is available on Igloo’s recall website.

Retailers, including Costco, Target, Academy, and Dick’s Sporting Goods, sold approximately 47,000 units in Canada. The coolers were available from January 2019 to January 2025.

The affected coolers have a tow handle and “IGLOO” printed on the side. They come in various colours, and the model number is on labels on the side and bottom of the cooler. Models include Latitude 90 Roller and Maxcold 90 Roller.

Health Canada advises consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to this product. You can submit a report through the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.
