Bonnyville’s Jessie Lake will once again be lit up.
The item was already budgeted for in the town’s 2025 interim capital budget. It included $40,000 for tree lighting along Jessie Lake.

When administration reached out to the vendor was pricing, they were told the vendor would provide a 10 per cent discount on current pricing if the town placed the order by Feb. 28.
The lighting project for 2024 included Pontiac Park as well as various other areas along the Jessie Lake Trail. The tree lighting project will continue along the trail for 2025.
Coun. Kayla Blanchette had high praise for the program.
“This is the one thing we did this term that everyone seems to love,” she said.
The offer to discount the lights was also given last year. Administration is unable to purchase anything without council approval prior to the final budget.
Council passed the motion to place the lights order.
