Bioclean Aquatic Centre evacuated after incident

Smoke detected in the Bioclean Aquatic Centre on March 8 prompted a temporary evacuation.

Bioclean Aquatic Centre staff noticed visible smoke in the sauna area. Following the emergency plan, the fire alarm was activated, and the building was evacuated to ensure the safety of both patrons and staff,” stated city communications personnel. “The Lloydminster Fire Department responded and worked with City staff to mitigate the incident.”

Officials are working to determine the cause of the incident. Users re-entered the building shortly after the incident.

No damage to the facility was reported. The facility is open; however, the sauna area remains closed.
