Police presence leads to arrest in Lloyd

Today’s (May 2) heavy police presence in southwest Lloydminster resulted in one arrest.

Lloydminster RCMP arrested one man after a police chase linked to break and enters in Onion Lake, Sask.

Wilton Police stopped a vehicle on May 2. The vehicle fled the scene and later crashed through a fence.

Two masked individuals ran from the crash. RCMP officers and Police Dog Services searched the area.

Out of an abundance of caution, nearby schools were also put in hold and secure as a safety measure.

Police arrested one man and identified the second suspect. Officers are still looking for him.

RCMP say there is no risk to public safety at this time.
