DAVIDSON: Edward Daryl Davidson passed away at Lloydminster Hospital, SK, on April 15, 2025, at the age of 85. Surrounded by the love of his family every day during his stay, he was not alone in his final moments-Tannis was by his side in the early morning when he passed. Daryl lived a life richly lived. He often said he was a lucky man-blessed with a good life, the best wife, and a close-knit family they were proud to raise together. Daryl was born in Lloydminster hospital to Lorne & Peggy Davidson. Brother Wayne arrived 2 years later and sister Gail 2 years after that. Daryl lived pretty much all of his life in the Earlie District and married Shirley Newcomb November 7, 1964. Shirley, was his beloved wife of 60 years, whom he affectionately referred to as “Mother” or “Ma”. Their bond was deep, built on decades of laughter, partnership, and quiet strength. Four children followed – Edward, Dean, Lorelei, and Tannis. He showed up every single day for his children. He was the proudest dad to his four children and an even prouder grandfather to his 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. There was nothing he loved more than watching his grandchildren grow, especially when they were playing sports. His support was unwavering and his pride was boundless. A proud farmer through and through, he found joy in the simple things – working the land, caring for his cows, and taking his truck for a quiet drive to check on everyone’s crops and make sure cows were in. He was so happy and proud that Josh and Kaden decided to farm with Dean. Daryl loved to play ball and curl. His love for the game, whether it was hockey, ball or cheering from the sidelines, never faded. What truly lit up his world was his family. He had a laugh that could light up a room and a quick wit that stayed sharp until the very end. His strength was to be admired. His presence was comforting, his advice steady and his heart immeasurable. Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing he left a legacy of love, integrity and resilience. We will carry his memory with us always – on every drive, in every game and in the laughter he gifted us. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
