We moved to Lloydminster to be closer to the hospital. Jim was a self-taught musician who mastered fiddle, acoustic and lead guitar, steel guitars and sang in many bands that played for weddings, funerals, anniversaries, family reunions and other community events. The highlight of his music career was when he played with Jimmy Martin and Sunny Mountain Boys, a band out of Nashville. He also played in a travelling band out of North Battleford; Smiling Johnny and his Prairie Pals travelled Western Canada, Yukon and Alaska. After he returned to the farm, he ran a Cat for different contractors, then eventually had his own Clayton Construction Company. During the retirement years, Jim took up wood working and enjoyed restoring old tractors and cars. He would take his 1936 Buick and 1956 Crown Victoria to various car shows. Jim will always be remembered for his generosity and his respect and undying love for his family. He will forever remain in our hearts. Rest in Peace.
