VIDEO: Highway 16 slowed after organic waste spill

Drivers can expect eastbound delays on Highway 16 west of Range Road 13 after a transport truck leaked hazardous waste on July 19.

According to on-scene officials, the truck was hauling organic waste, animal parts from a slaughterhouse.

The clean up requires the use of a vacuum truck.

Officials say it could make several round trips to a processing facility in Saskatchewan that handles the waste.

Traffic is down to one lane in the area near the commercial vehicle pullout just west of the city. Officials expect clean-up effort to continue through the day.
