The fair is scheduled from July 24 to 26 at the Vermilion fair grounds. Organized by the Vermilion Agricultural Society, second vice-president Toland Cochrane had nothing but exciting things to say about the upcoming event.

“It’s one of the largest and oldest traditional country fairs in Western Canada,” said Cochrane. “It’s a large fair run 100 per cent with volunteers, except for our office manager and a couple of summer students who help her out.”

According to Cochrane, the fair attracts about 25,000 people, making it one of the largest rural events in Western Canada.

The fair kicks off with a parade at 11 a.m. on July 24 and will feature trade shows, livestock shows, chuckwagons, chariots, tractor pulls and a midway.

An exhibit hall will display entries for all ages and the midway will offer rides, games and food.
