Armed with just a guitar and a microphone, Phillips warmed up the audience with his powerful vocals and precise picking. His 20-minute set, filled with original songs and classic covers, set the tone perfectly for the main event.

Smith then took the stage with his four bandmates, including a slide guitar and banjo player, and immediately launched into the hits.

The set, featuring a mix of Smith’s originals and well-known ’90s rock covers, had everyone in the room singing along. The show was part of Smith’s 51-date Canadian Unplugged Tour, which began on October and ends of Dec. 14 in Belleville, Ont.
