Vermilion RCMP arrest two after Mannville assault

Vermilion RCMP has charged two people after an assault that left a man with serious facial injuries in the Village of Mannville.

Police say officers responded to a report of a badly assaulted male on Nov. 30. An investigation led to the identification of suspects, who were arrested. Charges were recently approved.

As a result of the investigation, Marie Sansome, 52, and Herbert Wold, 30, both of Mannville, have been charged.

Sansome is charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, while Wold is charged with assault causing bodily harm.

Both accused were released on conditions pending charge approval. They are scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Vermilion on Jan. 5, 2026.
