Viking RCMP has arrested a man following a property theft in the Viking area.

Police received a complaint on Jan. 15 regarding stolen goods at a local property. Their investigation led to the identification, location and arrest of 46-year-old Blair Garrett. Approximately $9,600 worth of stolen property was recovered and returned to the owner.
Garrett faces charges of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, theft over $5,000, failing to comply with a court order, and obstructing or resisting a police officer. He was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Vegreville on Jan. 26.
“Viking RCMP continues to proactively combat criminal activity,” said Sgt. Raymond Stack, detachment commander. “This is part of our ongoing commitment to reduce criminality and promote a safer living environment for the communities we serve.”
