Onion Lake RCMP conducted a proactive patrol on March 28 at about 2:10 a.m., when they pulled over a vehicle in the community.
Police say a subsequent search of the vehicle led to the seizure of alcohol, drug paraphernalia and unstamped tobacco. During a search of one of the passengers, officers also found about 15 grams of methamphetamine, 10 grams of cannabis and 15 grams of cocaine, along with cash, a cellphone and items consistent with drug trafficking.
All three occupants of the vehicle were arrested.
As a result of the investigation, Chantelle Cannepotato, 42, of Onion Lake, has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
She is scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on May 20.
The driver and another passenger were released without charge.
RCMP say the investigation is ongoing.
