Battlefords RCMP responded to 2,401 calls for service during July, according to a monthly operational overview released Wednesday by police.

The busy summer month saw officers field 370 reports of property crime and 201 reports of persons crime across the detachment’s jurisdiction.
During one of the summer’s highest-volume shifts on July 29, officers handled 60 calls in a single night. Incidents included six assaults, one assault with a weapon, three stolen vehicles, and 17 complaints of mischief or disturbing the peace. A missing person reported during the surge was located safely.
Proactive patrols also led to weapons and drug seizures. On July 7, a traffic stop in North Battleford resulted in the arrest of four individuals for breaching court-ordered conditions. A search of the vehicle yielded a sawed-off firearm, bear spray, a knife, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
High Local Crime Severity Index
The monthly figures follow newly released data from the Canadian Centre for Justice and Community Safety Statistics on the 2025 Crime Severity Index (CSI), which evaluates both the volume and seriousness of police-reported offenses.
The data reveals local crime severity measures significantly higher than provincial and national benchmarks:
- Battlefords Municipal CSI: 477.10 (Violent CSI: 539.50 | Non-violent CSI: 456.19)
- Battlefords Rural CSI: 353.34 (Violent CSI: 498.15 | Non-violent CSI: 298.45)
- Saskatchewan CSI: 146.64
- National CSI: 75.01
Renewed Appeal in Missing Person Case
Alongside operational updates, investigators renewed their appeal for information regarding the disappearance of Ashley Morin, who was last seen in North Battleford eight years ago.
