Organizers say this year’s conference, centred on the theme “Beyond the Expected,” focuses on helping communities prepare for rare and complex emergency situations through expert-led sessions, interactive tools and real-world case studies.

The two-day event features a dynamic trade show, networking opportunities and a lineup of 15 speakers sharing strategies on emergency management and community resilience.

Announced sessions include discussions on regional emergency management strategies, high-pressure leadership, municipal collaboration during industrial incidents and First Nation wildfire evacuation preparedness. Inspector Ryan Smith will deliver a keynote presentation examining the mass casualty response to the Lapu-Lapu Festival.

Registration is currently open, with early-bird tickets available for $250 until Aug. 10. Early registrants will also be entered into a prize draw sponsored by ATCO.

Following the early-bird deadline, regular admission will increase to $300 until sales close on Oct. 7. Single-day passes are available for $150 per day, alongside group rates including the Wildfire Package ($575 for two tickets), Flood Package ($1,375 for five tickets), and Tornado Package ($2,500 for 10 tickets).

Conference organizers continue to announce additional speakers weekly via the City of Lloydminster’s social media channels and the official Bordering on Disaster newsletter.
