Three people face 68 charges after Saskatchewan RCMP seized drugs, firearms and ammunition during a Lloydminster traffic stop.

Members of the Lloydminster RCMP’s crime reduction team intercepted a suspect vehicle on Highway 16 outside the city about 5 p.m. on Aug. 18. Police initiated the traffic stop after receiving reports of an armed man travelling toward either the Lloydminster or Battlefords area.
All three occupants were arrested at the scene without incident.
A search of the vehicle and its passengers uncovered seven distinct illicit substances, including approximately 447 grams of fentanyl, 761 grams of cocaine, 85 grams of methamphetamine, 226 grams of psilocybin and 700 millilitres of GHB (gamma hydroxybutyrate). Officers also seized 2,627 pharmaceutical-style oxycodone pills and 441 pharmaceutical-style Xanax pills.
In addition to the drugs, officers recovered three firearms, including a loaded handgun along with three loaded magazines and nearly 1,000 rounds of ammunition.
Police noted one occupant had cut off a court-ordered electronic monitoring device earlier that day.
Omar Cristiano Caceres, 28, of Bonnyville, Alta., along with Zanielle Demarais, 26, and Kevin Kahmahkotayo, 30, both of Lloydminster, each face 14 joint offenses, including multiple counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Caceres faces additional charges including weapons possession contrary to an order and breach of a conditional sentence order. Kahmahkotayo and Demarais also face individual firearm-related charges.
All three suspects made their first appearance in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Aug. 20.
