After more than two years operating out of a smaller space in Lloydminster’s industrial area, the studio has relocated to a larger, more visible location, allowing for expansion and collaboration with other health professionals.

“We outgrew the space within the first two years,” said Gassner. “I was looking for something bigger that we could grow into and this new location gives us that opportunity.”

The new studio now shares space with other wellness practitioners, including a massage therapist and an osteopath, creating what Gassner describes as a collaborative environment for clients seeking holistic care.

Gassner launched the business shortly after the birth of her second child, initially envisioning a modest space to host classes. What began as a small postpartum project has since evolved into a community-driven wellness hub.

“I was about three months postpartum and just looking for a space to rent and teach a few classes,” she said. “I didn’t really know what it would become.”

Today, Redefined Yoga offers a range of classes, with a strong focus on pre- and postnatal care. Gassner, who is also trained as a doula, incorporates her experience supporting families into her teaching.

Her approach emphasizes trauma-informed practice and accessibility, encouraging participants to move in ways that feel supportive for their individual needs.

“It’s very invitational,” she said. “Everyone is at a different stage, so it’s about connecting with your body rather than pushing for an intense workout.”

Classes often begin with group check-ins, giving participants a chance to share experiences and build connections — particularly important for new and expecting parents.

“We get to normalize the highs and lows of motherhood and create a sense of community,” Gassner said.

In addition to prenatal and postnatal programming, the studio offers restorative and gentle movement classes designed to support nervous system regulation and overall well-being.

Gassner’s training blends yoga with psychological principles, focusing on the therapeutic benefits of movement and mindfulness.

At the heart of the business, she said, is connection.

“The community — that’s my favourite part,” she said. “I’ve met some amazing people who have become very close friends.”

As the studio approaches its two-and-a-half-year milestone, Gassner says she’s optimistic about the future, with plans to continue growing both the space and its offerings.

For now, she remains the sole owner and primary instructor, but with increased space and demand, that could soon change. Redesigned Yoga is now located at 4304 40 Ave. Lloydminster, Sask.
