The investigation stems from an incident on May 21, when a man reportedly robbed and assaulted an individual and discharged a firearm. The victim did not report serious physical injuries to police.
The following day, RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence on 2 Ave. East in Melville, where officers arrested five people without incident. Two individuals were later released without charge.
During the search, officers found and seized cash, a small quantity of methamphetamine and cocaine, ammunition, a magazine and two BB guns—one resembling a handgun and the other a semi-automatic weapon. Police also recovered two bicycles that had been reported stolen from a Melville business on May 21.
Tyrone Sayer, 44, of Regina, faces a string of charges, including robbery, assault with a weapon, discharging a firearm with intent, pointing a firearm and multiple counts of possession of a prohibited weapon.
Vincent Sayer, 46, of Melville, is charged with three counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, two counts of weapons possession contrary to an order and failure to comply with a probation order.
