“The big thing here for us is there’s actually parking here for spectators. We’ve never had that privilege; we’ve had maybe a few spots in the past,” Gerry Duhaime, chairman of the 2026 show and shine explained. “We also have an agreement with the Gold Horse Casino to park over there for overflow and we’re running a shuttle over there, too.”
People came from all over to show off their vehicles.
“What we got going on here is a show of cars from all over the trading area,” he said. “We’ve got cars here from North Battleford, Vegreville, Meadow Lake, Marsden and Macklin. They’ll show off their units; we have 12 different awards we give them and up to $4,000 worth of cash prizes.”

On top of the show and shine, a number of vendors were set up around the parking lot.
“We have some non-profits here that are doing barbecues and selling tickets on some items,” Duhaime said, noting it’s not just a car show.
“We consider this to be an event for Lloydminster, not just a car show,” he said.
Duhaime explained they set up a kids’ zone with the goal of encouraging families to attend.
“We have what’s called a make-and-take,” he said. “We have a great sponsor in Southern Spur. They’re snap-together models — they can sit down, build one and take it home at no charge. Right beside that, we have Matchbox racing, courtesy of Can-Do Auto and Lube.”
They also had a guest club from Bonnyville putting on a reaction test for people to try.
“The Bonnyville Gear Grabbers are here,” Duhaime said. “We’ve asked them to come. They’re doing — we call it the Christmas tree — it’s a time thing. It’s a reaction time; you get to time how fast your reaction is on the lights.”
