The committee is responsible for providing recommendations to city council on how community grant funding should be allocated. Members also advise council on matters concerning social policy and community programs.

“Community volunteers bring valuable perspectives to the decisions that help shape local programs and services,” Mayor Gerald Aalbers said in a media release Friday. “Serving on CSAC is an opportunity to support organizations that strengthen our community and improve quality of life for residents.”

Key responsibilities for committee members include reviewing grant application packages put together by the Social Programs and Services department, attending grant allocation meetings, and meeting with community organizations when requested by the committee chair. Members will also support various Social Programs and Services initiatives.

The city says the roles are vital to supporting the well-being and development of local community-based initiatives and social service offerings.

Applications are being accepted until July 31.

Residents who want to apply or learn more about the positions can visit Lloydminster.ca/CSAC or contact Family and Community Support Services at 780-875-6184, extension 2909.
