A search warrant executed at a residence in Pilger, Sask., has led to the seizure of illicit drugs, weapons and tens of thousands of illegal cigarettes, along with multiple charges against a 60-year-old local man.

On Aug. 27, members of the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Prince Albert crime reduction team, warrant enforcement and suppression team and critical incident response team searched the home as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.
Officers seized approximately 530 grams of cocaine, seven grams of methamphetamine, 52,500 unstamped cigarettes and 40 grams of unstamped cannabis. Police also confiscated a firearm, a baton, a conducted energy weapon and an undisclosed sum of cash.
Gaetan Carrier, 60, of Pilger, was arrested at the scene and faces six charges, including possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of unstamped tobacco products, unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
He is also charged with unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Carrier made his first appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Monday. Humboldt RCMP assisted in the investigation.
