Running Oct. 4 to 13, the nine-day trip will include stops in Dublin, Edinburgh, and London. The minister and an Alberta delegation plan to meet with major media entities and film organizations, including Screen Ireland, Screen Scotland, BBC Studios and Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden.

“Alberta’s cultural industries create jobs, diversify our economy and drive growth across the province,” Fir said in a statement. “This mission will strengthen relationships with key international partners, open new opportunities for collaboration and showcase Alberta as a world-class destination for artists, entrepreneurs and innovators.”

Beyond film and music, the delegation will meet with organizations focused on advancing women in leadership and elected office, including Women for Election Ireland, I-Wish, and Network Ireland.

The province noted that Alberta’s cultural sector contributed $5.8 billion to provincial GDP in 2024 and supported more than 53,000 jobs, with the music sector alone supporting over 25,000 jobs and generating nearly $5 billion in annual economic output.

The mission includes stops at cultural hubs such as EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, Windmill Lane Recording Studios, and Canada House, before concluding with Fir’s return to Alberta on Oct. 13. Mission expenses will be published on the government’s travel disclosure website following the trip.
