According to the city, the survey is part of ongoing public consultation and stakeholder engagement aimed at building a sustainable model for archival services over the next 20 years.
What the Archives Preserve
The Lloydminster Regional Archives holds records, stories and historical materials documenting the history of Lloydminster and the surrounding region.
Ownership and operations of the archives were transferred from the Lloydminster and District Centennial Commemorative Association to the City of Lloydminster in 2020.
City officials say the collection has continued to grow since that transfer, and community needs around access and programming have shifted in turn.
What the Survey Asks
The survey asks participants about their satisfaction with current archival services, their priorities for future programming, their preferred methods of accessing materials and which services or subject areas should receive greater focus going forward.
City officials say feedback gathered through the survey will help shape the future direction of archival services in Lloydminster.
The consultation follows a pattern of recent civic engagement efforts in the Border City, including the 2027 budget survey launched earlier this year and past feedback campaigns on facilities such as Archie Miller Arena.
How to Take Part
The survey can be completed online at YourVoiceLloyd.ca/Archives.
Paper copies are also available at City Hall, located at 4420 50 Ave., and at the Lloydminster Museum + Archives, located at 4207 44 St.
All responses must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 12, and more information about the project is available on the city’s website.
