Lloydminster RCMP bust nets drugs, weapons

Lloydminster RCMP‘s Crime Reduction Team (CRT) has laid multiple drug and weapons charges against an Elk Point man after a series of search warrants executed late last month in Lloydminster.

On Nov. 26, officers searched a home and vehicle on 56 Ave. as part of an ongoing drug-trafficking investigation. Police say they seized approximately 320 grams of cocaine, 500 grams of methamphetamine, a handgun, ammunition, a conducted energy weapon, drug-trafficking paraphernalia and cash. An adult male was arrested at the residence.

That same day, CRT officers also executed a search warrant at a second home on 41 St. One man was arrested and later released without charge.

Through continued investigation, RCMP have charged 31-year-old Brandon Ryall of Elk Point, Alta., with a long list of offences, including possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine, multiple firearms-related charges such as careless use of a firearm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

He also faces counts related to failing to comply with release conditions and operating a vehicle while prohibited.

Ryall appeared in Vegreville Provincial Court on Dec. 1.

RCMP say the investigation remains ongoing.
