Police say officers responded to a report of a break and enter at a business on Main St. at about 10 a.m. on Dec. 16. Investigators determined an unknown suspect, believed to be male, forcibly entered the business at about 5:15 a.m. that morning, causing damage to a window. No items were reported stolen.

As part of the investigation, RCMP canvassed the area for witnesses and reviewed available video footage. Officers identified two vehicles involved in the incident — a grey or silver GMC Sierra truck and a white Ford Taurus. Police say the driver of the truck, who was wearing gloves and had his face covered, exited the vehicle and broke into the business before returning to the truck. Both vehicles then left the area.

Further investigation led to the GMC Sierra being located abandoned in the Battlefords area. No occupants were found inside the vehicle. Police later confirmed the truck had previously been reported stolen in Lloydminster.

Maidstone RCMP continue to investigate the incident.
