The agency reported Saskatchewan’s wholesale trade rose 15.3 per cent from November 2024 to November 2025, excluding petroleum, petroleum products and other hydrocarbons, as well as oilseed and grain. The increase ranked first nationally.

In November 2025, the value of wholesale trade in the province totalled $4.1 billion under those exclusions.

Trade and Export Development Minister Warren Kaeding said the growth reflects confidence in the provincial economy.

“It is good news for our economy when we see such significant growth in wholesale trade as it shows consumer confidence,” Kaeding said in a statement. “We continue to work hard to ensure producers can reach the markets they need, as it means more resources flowing into our provincial economy.”

Wholesale trade measures the value of goods purchased in large quantities for resale, rather than sales to final consumers.

Statistics Canada’s latest gross domestic product figures also show Saskatchewan’s real GDP reached a record $83.6 billion in 2024, an increase of 3.1 per cent. The growth ranked second among the provinces and exceeded the national average of 1.7 per cent.

Private capital investment in Saskatchewan rose 17.3 per cent last year to $14.7 billion, the highest increase in the country. Investment is projected to climb to $16.2 billion in 2025, up 10.1 per cent from 2024, which would represent the second-highest anticipated percentage increase nationally.

The provincial government last year launched its Securing the Next Decade of Growth investment attraction strategy, aimed at promoting Saskatchewan as a destination for business and investment.
