The Lloydminster RCMP is pleased to announce the success of a multi-day Crime Reduction Initiative aimed at enhancing community safety and reducing criminal activity within Lloydminster.
Between March 13 to 14, 2024, Lloydminster RCMP with the assistance of the Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit patrolled high-crime areas, conducted targeted enforcement operations, and engaged with members of the community to address concerns and gather valuable information.
During this initiative, RCMP officers focused on various priorities, including:
- Increased patrols in areas experiencing elevated criminal activity
- Collaborative efforts with community stakeholders to address specific concerns
- Deployment of specialized units to target prolific offenders and hotspots
Additionally, several arrests were made, 11 arrest warrants were executed, 3 new criminal charges were laid, and various contraband items were seized. RCMP also recovered one stolen vehicle and a stolen firearm. The success of this initiative underscores the importance of proactive policing and the invaluable partnership between law enforcement and the community. RCMP extend our gratitude to residents, businesses, and partner agencies for their cooperation and support throughout this endeavour.
