On April 22, Lloydminster RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) officers were conducting proactive patrols when they observed two individuals, one male and one female, who had warrants for their arrest in Lloydminster. Police arrested both individuals and, upon searching the male, found 21.6g of methamphetamine and 13g of cocaine.
As a result of the investigation, James Blohm, 35, a resident of Lloydminster, was charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x2);
- Possession of fentanyl; and
- Possession of proceeds of crime under $5000.
Furthermore, Amber Eyben, 40, a resident of Lloydminster, was charged with failure to comply with a release order.
Blohm and Eyben were brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody. They are to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Lloydminster on May 7.
‘’Those who produce and traffic illicit drugs destroy lives, homes and communities,” said the Lloydminster RCMP’s Cpl Christopher Byford. “The Lloydminster RCMP remains fully committed to investigating drug trafficking and enforcing laws to their fullest extent.’’
