HILL, Kenneth William June 12, 1939 – April 15, 2024 Kenneth William Hill passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, at the age of 84 years. Ken was the offspring from a classic North American immigration story – the scion of a British/Celtic descendent American-born father and a Swedish/Norwegian descendent, Alaskan-born mother – united in Butte, America – he was destined for greatness! Marrying his high school sweetheart, despite her parents’ better judgment, in Grand Junction, Colorado, in 1961, was an early accomplishment. Graduating from the Montana School of Mines in Butte, Montana, as a Petroleum Engineer only a few years later with two infant children, was an even bigger achievement! And what an adventure these two kids, with two kids, embarked upon! Eventually settling in the wild frontier of Lloydminster, Alberta/Saskatchewan, Canada, where a third child came along! An avid outdoorsman who shared that passion with his family, there were many camping and fishing adventures. Always the family man, he followed his children and grandchildren’s life events, driving thousands of miles to do so. His and Ellen’s presence was a given and always appreciated. He will be missed. He is survived by his wife Ellen, his children, Eric (Carol) of White Rock, BC, and Karen (James), and Jeffrey (Jennifer) of Calgary, AB; and his grandchildren, Quinn (Freya) of North Vancouver, BC, Dane and Hanna of Calgary, AB. As per the family’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service held. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Rosedale Hospice #1245 – 70 Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB T2H 2X8Telephone: (403) 284 – 5195, www.hospicecalgary.ca/support/donate/givenow/.
