CHALLMAN: Charles Graham Challman passed away at the Lloydminster Hospital on April 16, 2024 at the age of 93. He was surrounded by family and love.
Charles leaves behind: his daughters, Rose and Verna; sons, Martin (Veanna), Albert (Kerri), Robert and Alvin; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Iver (Dianne); sister, Lil (Larry); and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Charles is predeceased by: his wife, Mary; brothers, George and Dan; sisters, Irene and Mary; grandson, Coty; sons-in-laws, Dave and Darrell; and special friend, Dot.
Charles was born in Mannville, AB and grew up nearby; Rochester; travelling horse and buggy and swathing farm fields for long days and little pay. He later migrated to Lloydminster area where he married his wife, and together, they raised 6 children and enjoyed numerous grandchildren. Charles then worked many years as a heavy equipment operator for Feldspar before retiring. After losing Mary, he sold his home and moved to southern Alberta and began flipping houses. His final home he worked on was back in Mannville.
Charles enjoyed the outdoors; fishing, camping, snowmobiling, driving around the countryside in his truck, always on the lookout for a spot to mine gold, and more recent years the occasional trip to the casino! He had the greatest sense of humor and could make anyone in the room laugh. His humor has been passed on to the next generations and we will never forget the wonderful memories with him.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and palliative care unit at Lloydminster Hospital. All donations in Charlie’s honor can be made to LRHF – Palliative Care.
