Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Lloydminster as extremely hot weather is on the horizon.
Day-time temperatures between 30 to 35 degrees celsius are expected until mid-week with overnight lows of 14 degrees.
Warm overnight temperatures won’t provide much relief from the heat, residents are warned to take precautions to protect themselves and their families.
There are a number of steps residents can take to stay protected from the heat, consider rescheduling outdoor activities, take frequent breaks from the heat, spend time indoors where possible, stay hydrated and don’t leave anyone in a closed vehicle for any length of time.
Residents are also reminded to monitor for symptoms of heat stroke or heat exhaustion. Symptoms include, his body temperature, lack of sweat, confusion, fainting and unconsciousness.
